Dear Kobe Bryant

Dear Kobe,

I understand that this letter is one of thousands, possibly millions, that will be addressed to you in response to your reiterment announcement. I understand that you are an extremely busy businessman that hardly has time to spend with his very own daughters, let alone spend time reading fan mail. Yet, here I am.

I am taking the time to write this letter to you to show you that this is more than just fan mail. This is love mail. Kobe, your spirit on the basketball court has inspired myself and countless others like me to look at any adversarial situation or competition, as an effective means of channeling aggression and creativity.

When people speak of the basketball Gods watching down on the game of basketball, they will now be speaking of you. Through your fierce determination, you balanced playing on a team full of immense talent and egos, media scandals, championships, loses, new contracts, trade talks, and recording breaking moments all with a charisma that can only be defined as "Mamba"ness.

Never once during your career did my loyalty to you as a basketball player or a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers organization sway. I remained loyal to you, Kobe Bryant, and you remained loyal to Laker fans everywhere.

Thank you.

This letter should also serve as a thank you letter. Thank you for all of the memories. Thank you for all the money you have won me from placing friendly wagers on your success. Thank you for lessons in bravery. Thank you for all of the trash talking lessons. Thank you for the leadership lessons, as well. Thank you for dunking on Dwight Howard. Essentially Kobe, I can not thank you enough for the impact your presence in the National Basketball League has had on everyone, especially little ole me.

There will never be another Kobe Bryant.

You are simply the greatest player in my lifetime.

Sincerely,

Donovan Bridgeforth
