Although I decided to walk away from the game of basketball, the game taught me many real life lessons that I am so grateful for. One of the things I learned through basketball is a phrase that can quiet easily compared to everyday life through basketball jargon. The particular phrase is "the squeaky wheel always gets oiled". In the scheme of basketball, that means that if you are working hard to get open from the defense, while always calling for the ball to be passed to you from your teammates, you will receive the ball. Much like a hardworking wheel that is squeaking on your car will receive oil eventually, just to stop the annoying sound.
With that being said I have continued to be that squeaky wheel in terms of calling for change in our generation OFF the court. But, I am just a squeaky wheel. Each individual and unique reader that takes time to read each word of post from The Great Change, are our teammates. Without you these squeaky wheels, our writers, could never and would never get oiled. Our goal is to spark enlightenment and create change. We would like to think that our content forces our readers to think outside of the box or without a box at all. But, our words can only reach so many people without the support of our readers.
So we thank you for you support through 2014, but expect much bigger and better things from us here at THE GREAT CHANGE as we flip our calendars toward 2015.
Thank you,
- The Great Change Team
